QuoteDecking ("we", "us") provides an instant deck-estimate tool that deck contractors put on their websites and share as an estimate link. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

Homeowners using a contractor's estimate tool

When you use a QuoteDecking estimate tool on a deck contractor's website or estimate link, we collect what you enter or draw:

• Your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), how you heard about the contractor, any notes, and your property address and map location.
• The deck you trace on the satellite map or type in: its shape and side lengths, which sides are house, railing, stairs or open, the height, stairs, materials, railing style, extras, timing, whether it's a new deck, a replacement or a repair, the ballpark range shown to you, and whether you asked for a site visit.
• Basic technical details: the page you came from (referrer), any campaign tags in the link (for example UTM tags), and your approximate country based on your IP address. Your IP address is also used to limit spam and abuse; those records expire after about an hour. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs for a limited time, and these can include the address text you type into the search box.

Photos are optional. You can add up to 3. Your device shrinks them before upload, which also removes most photo metadata, such as location. They are shown only to that contractor and to QuoteDecking for support, through private links. They are never public, and they are deleted when the request is deleted.

We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels in the estimate tool.

Leads are shared with the contractor

The purpose of the tool is to send your request to the deck contractor whose website or link you used. Everything listed above is delivered to that contractor as a lead. The contractor uses it to contact you about your deck and to arrange a site visit. The contractor's own privacy practices apply to what they do with it after that. We do not share your request with other contractors. For questions about your estimate or your information, contact the contractor directly. You can also email us.

As you type an address, our server looks it up for you. Your browser talks only to our server, and our server asks address services built on public data: Photon by komoot (OpenStreetMap data), with the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder as a backup. We send them only the text you type and the approximate map area, not your name or contact details. If you tap "Use my location", your browser asks your permission first, and your location is used only to center the map and look up your address the same way. The satellite map uses Esri World Imagery, so your browser loads the map area you view directly from Esri's servers. The map code is loaded from unpkg, a public code host.

Estimates are ballpark ranges based on the contractor's own prices. They are not a binding offer. The final price is set by the contractor after a site visit.

Deck contractors (our customers)

When you sign up or subscribe, we collect your company name, your name, email, phone, website, service area, the plan you pick, any prices or notes you send us, and whether you'd like a call. We use this to set up your estimator, run the service, contact you about your account, and provide support. We also store your price sheet, business name, color, booking link, and other estimator settings.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and go straight to Stripe. QuoteDecking does not see or store full card numbers. Charges appear on your card statement as QUOTE DECKING. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the information it processes.

How we use and protect information

We use information only to provide and support QuoteDecking, deliver leads to contractors, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. Data is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. Our admin tools are protected by a private access key, photos open only through signed private links, and contractor price sheets stay on our servers.

Retention and your choices

Lead records and photos are kept while the contractor's account is active, or until the contractor or we delete them. A contractor can ask us to delete their account and leads at any time. Homeowners can ask the contractor, or us, to delete their information.
